When this game came out, I was a college student in a small town in Moscow, Idaho. Possum Springs was in every way the spiritual twin of that place. It pervaded down to the very the layout of the community, with the suburbs leading to town proper leading to closed husks of grocerey stores. Then, the city would end abruptly and give way to rolling hills forever. I would put down the game and walk outside into my own private Possum Springs every day. The consipracies of cults and ghosts floated around between the students who had open minds, and I put myself in harm's way for the thrill of solving those mysteries whenever I could.
I dropped out of college recently. And when I came back to town, the game got especially real. That's where I am in my life right now. 22, home again, and finding my way forward. This game keeps me from feeling isolated.
