State Forest is the forest that surrounds the entirety of Possum Springs. State Forest is also where the cult enacts their ceremonies and meetings.

Description[]

The State Forest is a dense forest that surrounds the entirety of Possum Springs, from the edge of Town Centre, to the start of the highway. Located inside State forest are the Mines, the many cabins that elder Possum Spring residents reside in (such as Mrs. Miranda), Possum Jump, and the Train Tracks that run through the forest.

Possum Jump is a park / trail within State Forest, made to show off the forests' best locations, as well as historical locations, such as the make-shift Possum Massacre Graveyard.

In the Weird Autumn Update, we find out that Germ and his family live in State Forest, inside a large home, housing his father, mother, gramma, uncle, and multiple younger Warton children.

The forest is often the setting of many plot-relevant and story-heavy scenes, such as the party that Mae gets drunk at, where Eide escapes towards out past the Food Donkey, as well as where the cult enacts it's sacrifices, in the mines located deep inside the forest.

In-Game[]

Although Mae can't explore the forest in most instances of the game, State Forest can be seen just beyond the fenced-in Food Donkey perimeters. Germ and The Crusties can often be found next to the fence that leads to State Forest.

The State Forest is first shown in a party the gang go to, that occurs early in-game. Mae runs into Cole, her ex-boyfriend from high school, and forces herself to 'mellow out', by drinking enough beer to overcome her fears of talking to him again. She accidentally gets drunk after three cups of watered down beer, and spills both her emotions, as well as her guts, out into the party.

State Forest is also where many of the Cult's nefarious actions occur, such as the planned and acted upon kidnapping of multiple individuals, both citizens of Possum Springs and visitors. The forest is also where they punished Lurv, a fellow cult member, for leaving evidence of their sacrifices in Towne Proper.

Deeper into the forest is where the remnants of many mines are located, though the mines that the cult members act out of is located just west of the Food Donkey, and below the Warton Household. The mines are also where Mae and her friends confront the cult, and where Mae finally gets closure on the ghost sightings, as well as what happened to Casey Hartley while she was away at college.
